Fife

What are we doing?

We are working in collaboration to bring a festival to rural Fife at a traditionally quiet time.

Come and support farmers, makers and the local tourism industry, squish yarn, snuggle a goat, eat cake, and purchase lovely Christmas gifts.

Locations

  • Bowhouse

Bowhouse is our hub for the weekend, with vendor marketplace, lots of great food, pop-up talks, mini-exhibitions and our community decorated Drifter herring boat sail.

  • Scottish Fisheries Museum

Workshops will be held in the Education Room at The Scottish Fisheries Museum -we’ll be concentrating our gansey related offerings here, with the opportunity to handle and discover more about this aspect of heritage knitting.

  • Di Gilpin Studios

Classes will be held at Di Gilpin’s Studios - in her cosy shop space and larger wooden beamed barn workshop just next door.

Vendors

Your full vendor list will be announced shortly, but we’ll be looking forward to welcoming local makers and those from further afield.

Tickets

Tickets will be on sale from the early autumn.

We will have weekend, early doors, mid morning and afternoon passes available.

There will be an accessible ticket + free carer ticket for those who need it.

Tickets will be available from the Ticket Tailor website, with links made available here when booking opens.

You will be invited to make a donation to CHAS when buying your ticket - an easy way to give.

CHAS is an important charity close to our hearts - they provide care for children who may die young, and their families.

Thank you for your generosity in advance.

There’s plenty of space - park at Bowhouse and get the minibus between locations, or drive and park accessibly if you need to.

Getting the train to Leven? There’s a bus to St Monans, Pittenween and Anstruther (it even drops you off at Bowhouse). You can pick up the minibuses from our locations there.

Come with pals and arrange a car share.

Speakers and workshop providers include Di Gilpin and Sheila Greenwell, Susan Anderson and more to be announced.

There may well be some exciting surprises to come, so stay register for our newsletter below for info…

Enjoy demonstrations of weaving, storytelling, and knitting the herring…

Come and add your herring to the magnificent Drifter sail in the middle of the marketplace hall, as we celebrate the heritage connections between yarn and fishing in the East Neuk.

In addition to the exhibition of ganseys at The Scottish Fisheries Museum, we’ll have a range of historic ganseys on display at Bowhouse.
